Yes, The Standard at Syracuse provides secure bike storage for residents. You’ll have a designated area to lock up your bicycle safely on the property, so you don’t need to keep it in your apartment or worry about it while you’re in class. Many students bike to campus or around the city, and our bike storage makes it easy to choose two wheels instead of four.

We take safety seriously, and that extends to our parking facility. The parking garage is access-controlled and gated. Only authorized residents with parking passes are authorized to enter the garage area. Each vehicle will need the appropriate permit or electronic access to get inside. In addition, we have security measures in place such as surveillance cameras monitoring the garage and its entry/exit points, so you can have peace of mind knowing your car is in a monitored, restricted-access area.

Additionally, the Centro city bus system serves the University Hill area. There are Centro city bus stops within a short walk that can take you to downtown Syracuse, Destiny USA mall, and other parts of the city. Many students also use ridesharing services or bicycles for local travel. Yes, for the safety and comfort of our community, we have some breed restrictions in place. Aggressive or historically aggressive dog breeds are not permitted. This typically includes breeds such as Pit Bull types, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherds, Chow Chows, Cane Corsos, Akitas, and similar breeds or mixes with dominant aggressive traits. If you’re unsure whether your dog’s breed is allowed, feel free to contact us. We can provide the full list of restricted breeds and discuss any exceptions or clarifications.

No, we do not allow exotic or non-domesticated pets. Our community’s pet policy restricts exotic animals such as snakes or large reptiles, large birds, insects, spiders, or any other non-traditional pets. If you have a question about a specific pet, you can check with our leasing office for more information.

Residents must disclose and get approval for their pet. We partner with a service called PetScreening to help manage pet records and compliance. As part of the application or move-in process, you’ll complete a pet profile through the PetScreening platform, which collects info about your pet’s breed and vaccination records. Our management team will review and approve the pet registration as long as it meets our community guidelines. This process ensures that all pets on property are documented and up-to-date on vaccines. Even if you don’t have a pet at move-in but decide to adopt one later, you’ll need to complete the PetScreening and get management approval before bringing the pet to live with you. We want to make sure all furry residents are happy and healthy members of our community!

At The Standard at Syracuse, there is a non-refundable one-time pet fee of $300 per pet due at move-in. Additionally, pet owners pay a monthly pet fee of $35 per pet. If you have any questions about the pet policy or fees, our team will be happy to discuss them with you before you sign your lease.

Within the apartments, each unit entry door has its own secure lock as well. These measures give our student residents and their parents peace of mind.

Video surveillance helps deter unauthorized visitors and allows our team to keep an eye on any issues. Furthermore, The Standard at Syracuse employs on-site security personnel during evening and late-night hours. We have an after-hours security guard who patrols the property and can respond to any disturbances or assist residents as needed. This courtesy officer program means that there is always someone available if you ever feel unsafe or need help when the office is closed. Yes! We believe that a vibrant community life is part of the college experience, so The Standard at Syracuse regularly hosts resident events and activities. Our residence life programming is built around a model we call P.A.W.S., which stands for Philanthropic, Academic, Wellness, and Social events. There’s always something going on! We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can find something that appeals to them, whether you’re an extrovert who loves social mixers or someone who appreciates a calm study session or a fitness class. 12. General Property Information & Leasing Details

The Standard at Syracuse is a brand-new community. Construction began in 2024, and we are excited to welcome our first residents in Fall 2026. Being a newly built property, our apartments feature the latest in modern design and construction standards. You’ll be among the very first students to live in your apartment, and you can expect a contemporary style that sets it apart from older off-campus housing in the area.

The Standard at Syracuse is a mid-rise student community comprising 210 apartment units with accommodations for over 600 residents in total.

An individual lease is a student-friendly leasing model that we use at The Standard. The benefit is that you are only responsible for your own monthly payments and lease obligations, not your roommates’. For example, if a roommate graduates early or fails to pay their monthly installment, it does not affect your lease or cost you anything extra. This offers peace of mind for both residents and guarantors, because you won’t be penalized for someone else’s situation.

We’ve got you covered! If you don’t have specific roommates chosen, roommate matching is available to help pair you with compatible peers. After you apply, you can fill out a roommate matching profile (either via our questionnaire or online form). This form will ask about your lifestyle, habits, and preferences. Our leasing staff then reviews these profiles and matches residents who are likely to be a good fit living together. We take the matching process seriously and use the information provided to create the best possible matches. If you already know who you want to room with, you can request each other as roommates on your applications, and we’ll place you together whenever possible. Our goal is to ensure everyone ends up in a compatible living situation.

The standard housing contract at The Standard at Syracuse is a 12-month lease, typically running August to July to coincide with the Syracuse University academic year. However, we do understand that not every student needs a full year lease. That’s why we offer short-term and academic-term lease options in some cases. 6-month leases or single-semester leases may be available for select units, subject to availability. If you need a lease term that’s not the traditional August-July, let our leasing team know. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Have more questions? Contact our leasing office at (315) 231-3937 or stop by 171 Marshall Street. We’re here to help you every step of the way in your housing journey. Go Orange!
